There Is Power In Family

We are all faced with challenges and trials in our lives. We can choose to learn and grow from them and make us stronger. I know that I cannot go through these challenges with out the help of my Heavenly Father. He helps me, and helps all of us to get through anything as long as we are willing to turn to him. Another person I think that can also help us with our daily challenges is our spouse. In my case it is my fiance. Because of the wonderful example he is to me, I know that we will both prepare for the times that are tough and that we can learn and grow from each other. Like President Nelson said, "There is great power in a strong relationship. True partners can achieve more than the sum of each action alone. With true partners, one plus one is much more than two." I love this quote from him because it talks about the the power and unity of having someone you love be there with you to help you overcome your challenges. I know that I am not perfect, but I have a great example of Heavenly Father who is, as well as my fiance who has already helped me overcome so many challenges in my life. An example of how my fiance has helped me overcome my challenges is that he is a hard-working man. I am hard-working too, but it's nice to have an example of someone that I love that is so hard-working so that we can motivate each other to get things done. I have had some challenging classes and he has been there the whole way to motivate me and let me know that I can do it. It feels great to have that extra push from someone who cares about me. I know that I am not fully ready for each challenge I face, but I can learn to overcome them through time, through help of those we love and from our Savior.
I have seen so many blessings in my life that has helped and protected my family and I. Although my family is not perfect at reading scriptures every night together or having family prayer, we have remained faithful to many things in our lives. An example is that my parents always made sure that we got our things done and that we worked hard for the things we want. We are not always the smartest, but we work hard in everything we do. Especially when it comes to getting an education. I was always taught to get homework, projects, and any kind of work done first so that later on, I can go do fun things after. Being taught to do this has been such a blessing in my life because I worked hard first, and now I can relax and do whatever else I want to do with the rest of my free time. I have seen roommates struggle to get their things done because they went and did something fun first and then try to come back and do homework and end up not getting it done in time. There are several things that my family and I have remained truth and faithful to and because of that, we have been blessed.
