Faith in Christ

In an article called “Faith in Jesus Christ,” it says, “faith in Jesus Christ means to rely completely on Him-trusting in His infinite power, intelligence and love. It includes believing His teachings.” We should believe in him even though we do not understand all things, but He does. Because he knows us so well and has experienced all our sufferings, pains, and afflictions, He knows how to help us rise above our daily trials and challenges. Having faith in Jesus Christ strengthens marriages. When we base our marriages off of this gospel and Christ’s teachings, a marriage can become strong and can continue to grow in strength and love. When a marriage is centered on Christ, then it can receive eternal blessings.

When I think of how faith in Jesus Christ strengthens marriages, I think of my parents marriage. My parents from the very start of the marriage made sure to always have faith in Christ and I have seen that throughout my life that they have grown closer to each other. Not only has it strengthened their relationship between each other, but it has also strengthened our relationship as a family. We centered our family around Christ and we have seen the many blessings in our lives. My family is the only ones on both sides of my family where we all are active members and are strong believers of this gospel. I know that because of my parents examples to have faith in Christ, my siblings and I exercise our faith in Christ as well. We all have become stronger as a family. In my parents marriage, they believe in His teachings, and have relied on Him for many things. I am thankful to have parents where they both have faith in Christ so that my siblings and I could understand the importance of having faith in Christ and how that plays into relationships and into marriage. I think that it takes both spouses to have faith in Christ. It can’t be one person having faith while the other doesn’t. When times of trials come, faith can give us strength to press forward and face our hardships with courage. Having faith in Christ also means to have faith in each other and to be able to overcome anything together as a couple. I am grateful for my parents examples of showing faith in Christ and how that has strengthened their relationship as a whole.
